The NCSF is committed to creating a political, legal and social environment in the US that advances equal rights for consenting adults who engage in alternative sexual and relationship expressions. The NCSF aims to advance the rights of, and advocate for consenting adults in the BDSM-Leather-Fetish, Swing, and Polyamory Communities. We pursue our vision through direct services, education, advocacy, and outreach, in conjunction with our partners, to directly benefit these communities.

NCSF programs and projects:

 Incident Reporting & Response

NCSF receives requests for help from kinky people, groups and businesses as well as attorneys, law enforcement and local officials. We help with child custody and divorce, club/business formations, harassment and domestic violence assistance, potential criminal cases, employment discrimination, and media crisis intervention.

 Kink-Aware Professionals Referral List

NCSF provides a free referral list of psychotherapeutic, medical, legal and other professionals who are kink aware and kink friendly.

Consent Counts

NCSF is working to decriminalize consensual BDSM, create a database of relevant state laws, and provide education on the current court decisions and consent in a BDSM context.

Media Outreach Project

NCSF posts Media Updates about alternative sexuality in the news on our Blog and Facebook page, provides interviews for a wide range of media outlets, offers media trainings, and counteracts negative stereotypes of alternative sexuality in the mainstream media.

 Educational Outreach Project

The NCSF Foundation presents educational workshops about consent, the law, media and sexual freedom.

Legal Actions

NCSF contributes amicus briefs for relevant legal cases involving free speech, “consent is not a defense to assault”, and obscenity regulations which unconstitutionally restrict the materials that consenting adults can view or read.
